Our signature wine tour in a mini group will appeal to everyone. We are delighted to invite you to discover the world of Cypriot wines!
The wine tour will take place in the Pafos region. Most interesting for wine lovers and connoisseurs are the small, private wineries which specialize in the production of original varietal and blended wines.
There are currently about 20 such wineries in Cyprus, each producing between 10 and 100 thousand bottles of wine each year. This is relatively small, but the limited production makes the unique products even more precious. At all the wineries we will first be shown how the wine is made and then we will have a tasting.
Firstly you will go to Katikas village where we will take a walk in the vineyards and visit Vassilikon winery, one of the oldest in the Paphos area. It covers around 4000m2, including the production area, cellars, bar and wine museum, which tells the story of the development of the wine industry in Cyprus. Around 350,000 bottles of wine are bottled here a year.
Next, we head to the village of Lemony, where the Tsangaridis family winery is lost amongst vineyards and old rustic buildings. This is a new generation winery where old traditions are combined with new technologies. You will then head to Strumbi village to visit the Kamanterena winery. It is an entire wine cooperative SODAP, established in 1947. It brings together some 10,000 families from 144 vineyards. Over the years, the winery has continually participated in wine fairs and has earned several prestigious awards.
Our final visit will be to the Vuni winery, where you will have lunch after the tasting. This winery has been in existence since 1987. It has a good range of wines, its own museum and restaurant.
After visiting and tasting the local wines, you will definitely want to take home a bottle of Cypriot wine. The taste of Cyprus… is what will keep you warm when you're away from the island and you open a bottle of wine, fill your glass and think of the glorious days you spent on this small but so cozy Mediterranean island.
